Gulf feature in The Bath Chronicle

The very lovely Siobhan Prideaux at The Bath Chronicle decided that it would be a good thing to bring some of the stories from 20 years ago to the forefront of peoples minds. The Gulf War is often eclipsed by the second Gulf War of 2003 and is way back in peoples thoughts whilst the hostilities in Afghanistan are so prevalent.

We are jumping ahead a little in the diary on this one so I will save it till early March which is when this picture was actually taken. The road on which I am standing, actually on the top of our Land Rover is the infamous ‘Highway of Death’. It was as bad as it sounds and merited the glum expression.

Like I said we are jumping ahead and there is much to get through yet. If you have any stories or pics that you’d like to bring to the table please get in touch with me and we’ll start a website dedicated to it.

The article in the Bath Chronicle ( see it here )  is also appealing for others to come forward with their stories.  If there is anything you’d like to share then get in touch with Chris Hansford on 01225 322202 or c.hansford@bathchron.co.uk.
