Things that I see and need telling

Army vs Navy 2012 at Twickenham

Since before the weekend I had been a Twickenham Virgin. However on Saturday I popped my ‘twickers’ cherry as I indulged in my first Army vs Navy Rugby match.

A tribute to the Red Arrows – Heroes of the skies

It’s every schoolboys dream to become a Red Arrow. At least it was for me. The problem was, I was cack at maths and my brain isn’t wired up that way. Having served in the Army for 10 years, a lot of the time attached to the RAF, when you hear such sad news as what happened to Flt LT Jon Egging and only a day ago, Flight Lieutenant Sean Cunningham.  Well, you feel like you’ve lost an old friend.

The 100 foot club

If like me you do like weapons but not in a ‘lets go crazy kill things’ type way, then air rifles, pistols and catapults offer up competition based japery pa excellence. A couple of weekends ago we were messing around with one such shooter and as it was ‘the lads’, the competition and egos got bigger and better. Recent car crash

Right now before we get started, it wasn’t my fault. “what’s that coming over the hill, is it the knocksta, is it the knocksta”, don’t run true here. I was proceeding in a westerly direction up through a lovely, narrow, dangerous lane. The chap in the Audi ( Jim ) was proceeding in an easterly direction down the lane.

RIP 'H' from steps

Its been suggested that the lovely ‘H’ from steps has gone ‘one step beyond’ and is actually pushing up the daisies. You decide.

Nick Clegg sets sights on Number 10

Laugh? I nearly filled my ballot box. Watching ‘BBC Points West’ yesterday evening and the legend that is David Garmston pulled a blinder with Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg. Clegg, who for many seems to be just ‘getting in the way’ had been featured on the National News 15 minutes earlier visiting a factory.
